Frequently Asked Questions

  • Traditionally, small and mid-sized venues often don’t submit detailed setlists, which leads to underpayment or misallocation of royalties—especially for independent or emerging creators. SARA bridges this gap by making it easy for both sides (venues and artists) to provide the necessary data. This ensures royalties flow where they belong, no matter the artist’s size.

  • SARA was created to fix a long-standing pain point in the live music industry: inaccurate or incomplete reporting of setlists and event data. This “data gap” impacts creators and venues, while leaving major revenue on the table for bigger acts. By streamlining the process for everyone, SARA ensures creators of every stature get paid and venues stay compliant without extra hassle.

  • SARA stands for Setlist Aggregator and Royalty Application. It’s our proprietary platform designed to make live performance royalty reporting simple, accurate, and beneficial for both creators and venues.

  • The SARA platform is intended for any creator, creator representative, venue owner, promoter, or festival thrower to easily input their setlist/event data and export to the PROs (performing rights organizations).

  • We categorize our users into two main categories: performer and presenter.

Performers are the creators. Generally artists, their management or booking teams, and any of their representatives. These are the users who would upload mainly setlist data into the platform.

Presenters are the venues, promoters, and festival throwers, and their respective teams. These are the people who would upload event data such as gross revenue and ticket counts.

  • Creators and their teams can use SARA to quickly upload setlists and song information from each show. This data is automatically prepared and easily packaged for the user to submit to performing rights organizations (PROs), ensuring they receive the royalties they’re owed for live performances. For independent or emerging creators, this can mean collecting royalties that often go unreported. For established touring creators, SARA can unlock significant revenue streams that otherwise get missed.

  • Venues, festivals, and promoters only need to export gross revenue and event data into SARA. The platform takes care of the rest—pairing that information with the creator-submitted setlists so that royalty reports with pertinent information can be created in one go. This simplifies compliance and reduces administrative headaches.

  • Creators (or performers) submit their setlists and song information from each live show. SARA ensures that each song performed is properly tracked and linked to the right songwriter and publisher for easier royalty distribution.

  • Venues and promoters only provide gross revenue and event-level information (date, location, lineup). That’s it. SARA uses this alongside the artist’s setlists to create complete reports for PROs.

  • No. While independent and smaller touring performers benefit by receiving royalties that often slip through the cracks, larger performers who play big clubs, theaters, or arenas also see substantial gains. For them, can SARA unlock a significant additional revenue stream that may have been previously overlooked.

  • SARA is designed for any creator or venue, regardless of genre or size. Whether you’re playing small clubs, regional festivals, or sold-out arenas, SARA makes reporting easy and efficient.
